Brick Wall TV Mounting

Brick walls add warmth and character to a room, but they demand a careful mounting approach. The brick face is hard, yet the mortar between bricks is softer and can crumble if you drill into it.

Brick vs. mortar

The safest place to drill is the center of a solid brick, not the mortar joint. Mortar can pulverize over time, especially in older Los Angeles homes. If the brick is brittle or the wall is made of thin brick veneer, we may use a backing board or specialized brick anchors to spread the load.

Our brick mounting process

Design considerations

Exposed brick looks great with a full-motion mount because you can angle the screen without adding visible shelves or furniture. A tilting mount is ideal above a fireplace where the TV sits high. A fixed mount keeps the screen tight against the wall for a minimal, gallery-like look.

What to expect

Brick holes are permanent, so we measure twice and drill once. The job is slightly slower than drywall because we must test the brick density and choose the right anchor. Once the bracket is in, the TV is not going anywhere.

When to call us

If your brick is old, crumbly, or part of a fireplace surround, call a pro. We know how to avoid cracks, protect the finish, and choose anchors that hold heavy screens on uneven surfaces.
